Ghana coach – Maxwell Konadu
“With all that these boys have done in this tournament I think it’s time they get the recognition they deserve. Victory over a very good Nigerian side and to deny them a goal makes me happy. It is pleasing that we have reached that final. Playing away from Bloemfontein, which has become our home, will have some impact on us when we play Libya in the final in Cape Town. The people in Mangaung have been behind us and we will miss them in the final but we still intend to do well against Libya, a good side which we know something about. “
Nigeria coach – Stephen Keshi
“Congratulations to Ghana for qualifying for the final. In a game of two competent sides it is always difficult to emerge winners unfortunately tonight it is Ghana who goes through. The better side won tonight although there wasn’t much to choose between the two sides apart from minor differences and some important saves made in the match. All in all l feel these boys (Nigerian side) have had a good CHAN tournament and there are some among them who we have noted for World Cup but for now we will reveal their names.”
