The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has flagged off the National Young Farmers’ Scheme. The scheme was designed by the National Agricultural Land Development Authority.

The president in a post stated that the National Young Farmers’ Scheme was initiated to expand and modernize Agriculture and increase youth participation. This will in turn boost the economy as it will provide more employment opportunities for the youth.
The president has therefore charged the National Agricultural Land Development Authority to revive all NALDA’ farm estates that have been abandoned. This should be done in order to enable youths to engage in modern mechanized farming.
The president has therefore pledged that his administration will achieve food security in Nigeria and ensure that most of the consumables in Nigeria are homemade.
