President Tinubu welcomes tribunal verdict and calls for collective efforts to build the nation

Following Wednesday’s ruling by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assured Nigerians of his renewed and energized commitment on fulfilling his vision of a unified, peaceful, and wealthy nation.

With a deep sense of grave responsibility and a readiness to serve all Nigerians, President Tinubu appreciates the verdict of the Tribunal, despite the fact that Nigerians hold a wide variety of political beliefs, religious affiliations, and tribal affiliations.

The President is grateful to the five-member bench, led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, for their hard work, unwavering thoroughness, and professionalism in applying the law.

In a time when our democratic system of government is being tested in other parts of Africa, the President of Nigeria has reaffirmed his dedication to the rule of law and the unimpeded discharge of duties by the Tribunal, as evidenced by the panel’s exclusive respect for the merits of the petitions brought forward.

The President is of the opinion that the 2023 general elections and the legal procedure that followed have confirmed Nigeria’s democratic credentials, since both Presidential Candidates and Political Parties lawfully exercised their rights by participating in the polls.

The President calls on his courageous opponents to rally their supporters around the belief that patriotism will always take precedence over partisan considerations, resulting in widespread backing for our Government’s efforts to better the lives of all Nigerians.

President Tinubu expresses his gratitude to the people of Nigeria for electing him to lead the country, and he assures them that he would do everything in his power to live up to and even exceed their expectations by the grace of God Almighty and by working tirelessly and effectively with the team that has been assembled for that purpose.
