The planned visit of President Bola Tinubu to Abia State for the commissioning of the Aba Integrated Power Project has been postponed.
The project, a Geometric Power Plant located in Osisioma Local Government Area, was scheduled for commissioning on Saturday, February 24.
The project, aimed at providing electricity to the Aba Ringed Fenced Area comprising nine out of the 17 local government areas in the state, including Aba North and South, Isiala Ngwa North and South, Osisioma, Ugwunagbo, Obingwa, Ukwa East, and West, will now be commissioned on Monday, February 26.

In a statement issued by the management of Geometric, the change in the commissioning date was attributed to a shift in the Presidency’s schedule.
The statement apologized for any inconvenience the date change may cause and expressed hope that the new date would be convenient for all stakeholders.
“We hope that your schedule will accommodate this change and we apologize for any inconvenience this date change may cause you.
We would be most delighted to see you at the event on Monday,” the statement read.
