The National Coordinator, Rural Access and Mobility Project, Engr. Ubandoma Ularamu has re-affirmed the commitment of the project to a transparent procurement process in the on-going procurement of consultants and contractors for the construction/rehabilitation of 800km 1st phase of the RAMP II roads in Adamawa, Enugu, Niger And Osun States.
Engr. Ubandoma made this assurance at the opening ceremony of a 2-day training for procurement and finance management officers organized by the Federal Project Management Unit, in collaboration with the World bank, and the French Development Agency at the Nicon Luxury Abuja.
The National Coordinator said that the transparent selection of consultants and contractors for this phase of the project is critical towards realizing the project development objectives, maintaining it will help build confidence among the stakeholders and assist in the smooth implementation of the actual works. He therefore, tasked the participants to take full advantage of the practical approach adopted by the facilitators to further improve on themselves in order to ensure only the best contractors are selected for the jobs.
In his own remarks, Dr. Daniel Rigachiki Kajan, Procurement Specialist, World Bank Country Office in Abuja, described the workshop as hands-on sessions aimed at equipping the participants with the necessary skills that will enable them deliver on RAMP’s development objectives.
He pledged the continued support and assistance of the World Bank and its partners at building the capacity of Nigerians to successfully implement various development efforts of the Government.
The two day workshop had in attendance, participants from the FPMU and the RAMP II States of Adamawa, Enugu, Niger and Osun states.
