Reece James was the ideal candidate to become the club’s new captain, Mauricio Pochettino has said. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, Reece is not just a footballer that can be a leader on the pitch, he also has the ability to lead with character.
Poch added that James is surely going to be Chelsea star in the future, so it was only fair for him to be named captain.
His words, “I think he’s not only a player that can be a leader, because he’s a leader with his character, his qualities.”
“He’s a person also that’s going to be the future of the club. He came through the Academy. I think for us, for me and for the club, he’s a perfect player, person, to be a captain.”
