Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette believes that teenager Reiss Nelson will be “a top player” for the club.
Nelson, 17, could be set for his first Arsenal start in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup third-round tie against Doncaster at the Emirates Stadium.
“I think Reiss is very good,” Lacazette told Arsenal’s official website. “I believe he will be a top player for the club. He already impressed me during preseason and it’s great to see what he’s been doing for the under-23s.”
“His stats are very good and he’s been performing well. When he’s played with us, he’s shown that he has real quality,” Lacazette said.
Nketiah is widely regarded as the best finisher in the Arsenal academy and has also impressed France international Lacazette.
“I really like Eddie as well,” he said. “He’s a great striker at the academy. He is very calm in front of goal and has great technique.”
