Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has attributed Nigeria’s worsened insecurity to the failure of the past administration under ex-President Muhammadu Buhari to rearrest terrorists who were illegally freed from prison.
Omokri highlighted the incident on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, during Buhari’s administration, when hundreds of terrorists on motorcycles attacked Kuje prisons and reportedly released over 600 of the 900 inmates.
According to Omokri, the Buhari administration never rearrested these illegally freed terrorists, leading to the current state of insecurity in Nigeria.

He also criticized politicians who served in the previous administration, including Isa Pantami, stating that they lack the moral grounds to claim that Nigeria is facing worse insecurity under President Tinubu than under ex-President Buhari.
Omokri stated, “Jailbreaks, airport invasions, and train bombings are now a thing of the past. Oil thefts have reduced, and our oil production has increased from what it was under Buhari to about 2 million barrels per day today.
And no police stations have been destroyed in the Southeast since Buhari’s inept regime thankfully came to an end.”
