Might as well call Rihanna King Midas, because everything she touches turns to gold.
The superstar has lent her stylish eye to Puma and Manolo Blahnik, and even made knee-high cotton socks (Stance x Rihanna) covetable. Now, RiRi’s golden touch is taking a literal turn — she’s turning her attention to fine jewelry by partnering with Chopard.
Rihanna worked with the brand’s co-president and creative director Caroline Scheufele to create a 9-piece collection of Haute Joaillerie and Joaillerie which will debut this summer at the Cannes Film Festival to not only celebrate the 70th anniversary of the festival, but also the 20th anniversary of Chopard’s partnership with the fest.
“I have always been in love with Chopard’s exquisite jewelry, so to actually design collections with them is something I still can’t believe,” Rihanna said in a statement. “It was a really incredible process and I learned so much! I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
The sneaky style maker quietly teased the collection while walking the red carpet earlier this year at the Grammy Awards, where she paired her Armani crop top with a pair of glittering, colorful chandelier earrings. She also donned a pair of diamond sparklers from the “Rihanna Loves Chopard” collection on her March cover of Harper’s Bazaar.
“Rihanna and I collaborated closely on the collections so you can feel her unstoppable energy, strong creativity, and inherent sense of design in every piece,” said Scheufele. “With her unique style, she redefines the way people see and wear jewelry.”
