Rihanna’s brow artist has revealed how the singer sent him a lookalike model to practice looks before doing her own for the Met Gala in New York City.
Ahead of the Met Gala this year, Rihanna employed Damone Roberts to style her eyebrows for the event. The Beverly Hills brow artist started his business more than 20 years ago and has worked with an all-star list of clientele — including Christina Aguilera, Jenna Dewan, Beyonce and Kim Kardashian West.
In an interview, Damone revealed what it was like to work with the 30-year-old Fenty Beauty founder for the star-studded event.
Damone described Rihanna as ‘so fly and dope’ after working with her this year on shaping and lightening her eyebrows.
‘She really personifies “Rock Star” and this year we first met for the Met Gala, Damone revealed to the publication.
He continued: ‘Rihanna’s so fly that she has a lookalike model come by your space and you try out different looks on the eyebrows on the model and you send pictures to Rihanna and she decides whether she wants to do it or not.’
That’s exactly what Rihanna decided to do ahead of attending the Met Gala.
Pictures were sent to Rihanna of different eyebrow looks after a lookalike went to Damone’s studio.
But he reportedly didn’t hear back from the singer until just two days before the annual event in New York City.
‘She’s like, “I loved them! You gotta fly to NY and take care of me!”,’ Damone said. ‘And of course Rihanna shut down the show. It was really, really special.’
The artist was right in saying Rihanna stunned on the red carpet after choosing to encapsulate the Heavenly Bodies theme by wearing a silver Pope-inspired outfit.
Her lightened eyebrows complimented the smokey eye shadow and pink lip for her makeup look.
But Rihanna isn’t the only client Damone has enjoyed working with over his decades-long career in the business.
