Marcos Rojo should have been happy to get his head kicked off against Phil Jagielka, according to Rio Ferdinand.
The Everton star struck past David de Gea in the 22nd minute despite Rojo being right beside Jagielka when the ball arrived in the box.
Rojo was waiting for the ball to drop when Jagielka snuck in ahead of him to fire Everton into an early lead at Old Trafford.
And Ferdinand believes Rojo could have prevented the Toffees from going ahead had he been braver.
‘Rojo has got to go and head this, Get kicked in the face, get a bloody nose.
‘Has to go for it,’ Ferdinand said on BT Sport.
‘Get your head kicked off clean, doesn’t matter.’
Ashley Williams got the flick on a corner that looped in the air towards Rojo and Jagielka.
De Gea opted against coming out for the ball and Jagielka nipped in front of Rojo to poke the ball home.
The strike went through De Gea’s legs and the goal is Jagielka’s first since May 2015.
