The Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi, has declared that the annual vacation for judges of the state’s High Court will commence on Monday, July 21, 2025.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Chief Registrar of the Rivers State High Court, David Ihua Maduenyi.
According to the statement, normal court activities are scheduled to resume on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
The Chief Registrar explained that the vacation is in accordance with Order 49, Rule 4 of the High Court of Rivers State (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2023, as amended.
The notice further clarified that all judicial divisions of the High Court across the state will remain closed to regular proceedings throughout the vacation period.
However, Maduenyi assured that any urgent cases filed during the break would be attended to by designated vacation judges, who will be appointed by the Chief Judge to handle such matters.
