Manchester United striker, Cristiano Ronaldo was dropped because the game vs Burnley required a lot of sprinting, Ralf Rangnick has said. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, he and his assistants decided that the Portuguese international had to play from the bench because Cavani fit the game plan better.
Ralf added that a lot of fighting for second balls were also required in such a match and CR7 might not have been able to handle that.
His words, “Today it will require a lot of sprinting, chasing balls, a lot of fight for second balls,”
“This best fits the profile for Edinson Cavani which is why he starts today.”
“I think Ronaldo and Messi set the standard, not just on the pitch but by being so professional off it. It’s all down to the way they keep their body in good shape, so that they can perform week in, week out.”
“So, that’s the goal: I want to be playing football as long as possible. It is a sport I love and enjoy doing every day of my life, so the longer I do it, the better.”
