More than 1000 Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), 75 Presidents, Ministers, a multitude of investors, and approximately 200 journalists from 73 countries are gearing up for the 2024 African CEO Forum set to commence in Kigali, Rwanda, starting Thursday.
Themed “At the Table or On the Menu? A Critical Moment to Shape a New Future for Africa,” the two-day event, commencing on May 15, promises to convene Africa’s most influential leaders, innovators, and policymakers for its 11th edition.
Co-hosted by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Jeune Afrique, this year’s forum marks over a decade of impactful gatherings dedicated to Africa’s economic advancement.

With a focus on transformative agendas such as leadership, digital transformation, continental integration, and financing, the forum will feature panel discussions, workshops, and roundtables. Participants will strategize on leveraging Africa’s collective weight through initiatives like the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), driving disruptive innovation, and overcoming obstacles to financing African aspirations.
Amir Ben Yahmed, President of the Africa CEO Forum, stressed the forum’s significance in shaping partnerships and strategies that uplift Africa’s economic trajectory. He emphasized the need for innovative strategies and partnerships to propel the continent towards future opportunities.
Sérgio Pimenta, IFC’s Vice President for Africa and Co-host of the forum, highlighted the crucial roles of the private sector and policymakers in driving Africa’s GDP to unprecedented heights by 2050. He emphasized the necessity for an empowered African private sector, facilitated by supportive policies, to foster partnerships, enhance intra-African trade, and attract investments.
Established in 2012, the African CEO Forum serves as the premier platform for African CEOs, global investors, heads of state, ministers, and representatives of major financial institutions active on the continent. Co-founded by Jeune Afrique Media Group, the forum’s Annual Summit is co-hosted by IFC, a member of the World Bank Group.
