Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appealed to residents of the state to exercise patience while using roads across Lagos, assuring them of adequate security and traffic management.
The governor made the call on Friday during the inauguration of the rehabilitated Akilo 1.0 MGD Micro Water Treatment Plant, noting that the state is fully prepared to accommodate an influx of visitors.
Sanwo-Olu urged road users to be mindful of others and obey traffic rules, stressing that traffic officials and security agencies are working round the clock to ensure safety and order.

“Let us use this opportunity to appeal to people to be patient on the road. They are not the only road users,” the governor said.
He disclosed that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, will operate 24 hours daily, while the police have been provided with additional operational vehicles through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund to enhance security.
According to him, security operatives have continued to work late into the night to ensure residents can move safely across the city.
The governor also called on residents to act responsibly, be their “brother’s keeper,” and show consideration for other road users.
Sanwo-Olu reiterated that Lagos is ready to receive both local and international visitors, assuring that necessary arrangements have been put in place to guarantee a safe and pleasant experience.
“We are ready to take in the influx of all our visitors, and we are making sure that the space is available and that everything works well for everyone,” he said.
