SAN DIEGO, CA–(Marketwired – April 29, 2014) – SeatAdvisor, Inc. celebrates its 15th anniversary today since entering the ticketing industry in 1999. SeatAdvisor Box Office (SABO) software, used by thousands of organizations and venues worldwide, has facilitated 56 million ticket sales, representing $1.3 billion dollars in global consumer spending over the past 13 years. Originally positioned as one of the first companies to provide interactive seat maps for venues, SeatAdvisor has been a pioneer from the start. After expanding its business model in 2001, SeatAdvisor became the first ticketing solution fully hosted on the Internet with interactive SeatMaps. SeatAdvisor was also the first box office software to offer 360-degree panoramic views of venues. Most recently, the company has taken the lead in being the first provider of private labeled ticket resale technology.
Originally founded by Brent Miller, Steve Souza and Terry Christensen, the company now operates under the direction of Brent Miller, CEO, and Steve Souza, CTO. SeatAdvisor, Inc. oversees subsidiary companies in several continents and is currently the premiere racetrack ticketing provider in the U.S., representing Churchill Downs/Kentucky Derby, the Breeders’ Cup, the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, and Colonial Downs to name a few. In the U.S., SeatAdvisor also represents Sotheby’s and The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in addition to hundreds of performing arts and academic institutions across 39 states. Privately labeled, the system assists clients in maintaining a seamless sales flow across all sales channels, including mobile devices.
“In reflecting on our company’s history these past 15 years, it is clear that our dedication to providing the best ticketing experience for both the venue and the patron is what has secured our longevity in the industry,” Miller said, adding that 56 million tickets is no small accomplishment. “Staying ahead of trends and consumer needs is what we do best.”
The SABO ticketing system includes ticketing, marketing, fundraising, CRM and resale functionality. However, SeatAdvisor’s anniversary celebration featured a presentation by Chris Snyder, Vice President of Engineering, unveiling new plans for a system redesign.
“It’s time to plan for the next 15 years of SeatAdvisor’s evolution, and we intend to maintain our reputation as an industry ‘pioneer,'” Snyder explained. “We are currently engineering an even more robust version of SABO that adheres to current e-commerce standards and features many new enhancements, both aesthetically and functionally, in our effort remain competitive in the market place.”
There is no formal release date yet for the latest version, as the company is planning for a gradual transition. Last month the company began releasing many new enhancements to its current users. Additional releases regarding the redesign are expected throughout 2014.
“SeatAdvisor is prepared for a rebranding that more appropriately markets SABO as a full venue management system, inclusive of the comprehensive ticketing features that have anchored the software thus far,” said Brendan Hanke, SeatAdvisor’s VP of Sales.
