After winning the April 11 governorship election in Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode was sworn in on May 29, Friday.

The newly elected governor resumed at his new office for the first time today and took to Instagram to share a photo of his first day at work.

The photo shows the governor signing some documents.

He captioned it: “My first day in Office #ekoonibaje #itesiwajueko.”

The festivities are over and it is now time to get down to business. Some Lagosians have been congratulating the governor on his new feat on social media. They also asked him to look into the problem of unemployment in the state.

Ambode is the 14th governor of Lagos state. He took over from Babatunde Fashola. Not long after his inauguration, he wasted no time in announcing the appointment of key officials in his government.

Meanwhile, an Igbo group in Lagos known as the Igbo Progressives Leaders Council (IPLC) has reached out to the governor. They drafted a seven-point agenda for the governor, seeking for his cooperation in their quest to join hands with him to take the state to greater heights.
