Senator Abdul Ningi has announced his resignation from the position of Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, citing unfolding events in the National Assembly, the North, and the nation at large as the reason for his decision.
In a statement seen on Tuesday by the media, Ningi expressed his gratitude to the members of the forum for the opportunity to lead for the last eight months.
He emphasized the importance of the forum for the progress and development of Northern Nigeria.

Ningi, who represents Bauchi Central on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was reportedly suspended for three months over his allegation that the Federal Government was operating two budgets.
He had earlier claimed that N3.7 trillion was padded into the 2024 budget.
His suspension followed the amendment of prayers by Senator Jimoh Ibrahim to the motion raised by Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan, which took Senators hours to debate.
