Sergio Ramos will face a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a calf muscle injury in training, the club announced on Friday.
Ramos, who was rested in Real’s 3-0 midweek win at Numancia in the Copa del Rey round-of-16 first leg, reportedly got hurt during Thursday’s training session.
He had tests on Friday morning, after which Madrid released a statement that said: “Following tests carried out on Sergio Ramos by the Sanitas Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury in the soleus of his left leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed.”
Ramos could return to action in time for Real’s league game at Valencia on Jan. 27.
