Former lawmaker and social critic, Senator Shehu Sani, has raised concerns over the alleged looting of a warehouse belonging to the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria (NEMA) by some residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Sani described the incident as a dangerous symptom of an impending revolution.
The looting of the NEMA warehouse, amid the current economic hardship across the country, was reported by the media. Residents were said to have carted away foodstuffs and other items from the facility.

In a statement on Sunday, Senator Sani expressed worry over the mass looting, warning that it could be a prelude to a revolution if not averted or contained.
The development comes amidst a report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) highlighting stalled per-capita growth, poverty, and high food insecurity in Nigeria.
The IMF report noted that these factors have exacerbated the ongoing cost-of-living crisis in the country, which is experiencing rising inflation, exchange rate challenges, weak economic growth, and business shutdowns.
