Former Kano State Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, has formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Shekarau announced his defection to the APC on Sunday, marking a significant political move in Kano State.
Born on November 5, 1955, Shekarau is a veteran educator and politician who served as Governor of Kano State from 2003 to 2011.
He also held office as Minister of Education between 2014 and 2015, and later represented Kano Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly from 2019 to 2023.
