Manchester United defender Chris Smalling has said he should be fit for his side’s FA Cup semifinal against Everton on Saturday.
Smalling, 26, sustained a knock in United’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Wednesday that boosted his side’s chances of claiming a top-four finish.
However, the England international is confident of being available for manager Louis van Gaal when they face Everton at Wembley this weekend.
“Yeah I’ll be fine,” Smalling told MUTV. “It was just a 50-50 and he caught me after, but it’s nothing serious.”
United are now a point behind Arsenal, who have a game in hand and take on West Brom at Emirates Stadium on Thursday, while they are two points off rivals Manchester City.
Smalling added: “I think we’ve done exactly what we’ve needed to do, and it’s about having City and Arsenal looking over their shoulder, and we’ve put a bit more pressure on. Now we look forward to Saturday.”
