At only 21 Kylie Jenner has had a baby, become worth almost one billion dollars, admitted to cosmetic surgery and endured overwhelming pressure concerning everything from her looks to her business acumen. Thankfully, the youngest of Kris Jenner’s children, she has developed a thick skin, with a mature perspective.
In an interview for British Glamour, the beauty mogul referenced back to a time where she was arguably under most scrutiny – when many had accused the then-teen of lip fillers, but she was yet to announce this personal choice.
The new mother told the publication, ‘I was super insecure about my lips. I really wanted the illusion of bigger lips, so I overlined mine like crazy, and then people started getting obsessed.’
At the time, criticism of the school student was harsh and pervasive, and unfortunately, whilst her popularity has soared, so has the internet trolling.
Jenner said of the seemingly unrelenting judgement hurling her way, ‘So many negative things come at me all the time…Of course, it does affect me, but you develop a thick skin,’ she continued, ‘Nothing has lasted so long that I haven’t gotten through it, so whenever a new bad story or rumour emerges, I know it will pass, too. Everything in life is transient.’
The Adidas ambassador appears to have a zen approach to her life, whilst discussing giving birth to daughter Stormi and what it may have done to her almost universally-admired figured she stated, ‘Pregnancy completely changed my body at a super young age. But I really don’t care.’
In fact, it seems that the Calabasas-native has one priority, her daughter, ‘I work hard for Stormi and being able to pass Kylie Cosmetics onto her – if she is interested – would be such a cool thing to do.’
We would adore to see Stormi Webster carry the torch of Kylie Cosmetics one day.
