Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has mocked former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over the outcome of Saturday’s by-election in the state.
Speaking on Sunday at an event in Nanka, Anambra State, organised to celebrate the victory of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the polls, Soludo said the results confirmed that the Labour Party (LP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) were “dead” and “non-existent” in the state.
“ADC does not exist in Anambra. We showed it yesterday, Saturday. Labour Party is dead,” Soludo declared.

The governor alleged that the ADC-led opposition coalition, which Obi openly supported during the election, had attempted to use the by-election to test its strength but was overwhelmingly rejected by the people.
According to him, APGA’s success was resounding, securing more than 75 percent of the votes across the constituencies.
“APGA is our movement,” Soludo said, while commending party supporters for their unity and resilience.
InfoStride News recalls that Obi, who remains a member of the Labour Party, had aligned with the ADC coalition as part of broader efforts to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections
