The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has come out to dedicate D’Tigers victories over Team USA and Argentina to the memories of Sound Sultan. The basketball team recently revealed this via its Twitter page, and Nigerians have been reacting.
According to the team, Sound Sultan deserves recognition because he saw the day when Nigeria would become a dominant force in global basketball.
NBBF added that it is ironic that the day Nigeria won against Team USA was when he died.
They wrote, “We dedicate the victories against the US & Argentina to the late Olanrewaju Fasasi (Sound Sultan). You saw this day coming when Nigeria would become a dominant force in global basketball. Ironically, the day we won against Team USA was when you gave up the ghost. RIP.”
