Minister for Special Duties, Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki has lauded the efforts of the member representing Girei, Yola North and Yola South in the House of Representatives, Hon. Aishatu Dahiru for effectively utilizing her annual 100 Million Naira constituency project fund for the benefit of her constituency.
He said that the Federal Government in pursuance of its transformation agenda, has been releasing 100 Million Naira to each member of the House of Representatives annually as constituency project fund and that Nigerians should be keen in probing their representatives at both upper and lower chambers to ascertain how the funds were expended.
While speaking at the launching ceremony where free medical services for 1,500 patients, presentation of assorted medical equipment were donated to the Federal Medical Centre, Yola; 30 keke NAPEP to people with disability and commissioning of motorized borehole for her constituency in Yola recently, the Minister described Hon. Aishatu Dahiru as a true representative of the people and a true advocate of the transformation. He said that the occasion was a true manifestation of the cordial working relationship existing between the executive and the legislative arm geared at improving the lots of the people.
In her remarks, the Hon member representing Girei, Yola North and Yola South, Hon. Aishatu Dahiru said, already 1,005 people were benefiting from the free medical mission initiated by her office for the poor in the society, while many people with disability were being assisted to have a sense of belonging.
She said, already a bill for the upgrading of the Federal Medical Centre, Yola to a Teaching Hospital has since scaled through the House of Representatives and was awaiting presidential assent; adding that the vision was to ease the perennial medical problem of the people of the State.
The law maker then prayed God to end the security challenges bedeviling the North–East region and the release of the abducted school girls in Chibok by insurgents without any harm.
In his welcome address, the Chief Medical officer of the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, Dr. Aliyu Danburam thanked the member for her continuous support to the hospital and assured that the donated items would be judiciously put to use for the benefit of the people of the State.
