The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Friday, May 26 played out a 1-1 draw with Corsica in a friendly game.
Nigeria conceded an early goal via a penalty and also equalised with a penalty.
The friendly had been organised to prepare the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against South Africa on Saturday, June 10.
The Super Eagles were however without most of their first team players who were missing through the club commitments, injuries and visa issues.
With Corsica not a member of UEFA and FIFA, the friendly match was not recognised and was just an opportunity for Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr to try out new players.
He handed starts to debutants like Tyronne Ebuehi and Henry Onyekuru while Elderson Echiejile was captain.
Corsica got their goal early in the game from a penalty after Ebuehi handled the ball in the box.
The Super Eagles, looking for a quick response got their chance to equalise but Onyekuru could not score with only the goalkeeper to beat.
Nigeria dominated the game and Ibrahim Alhassan headed the ball over the ball from a fine cross from Echiejile.
Ahmed Musa also missed from close range in the 35th minute after Alhassan’s effort was spilt by the Corsica goalkeeper.
