Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr has come out to say that Odion Ighalo will be allowed to return to the Nigeria national team. He recently revealed that the forward will be given the chance to play for Nigeria again, despite his recent move to Saudi Arabia.
According to him, as long as Ighalo is performing well at his club side anywhere across the globe, he’ll be good enough to wear the Super Eagles jersey.
He added that Odion’s experience is still needed for the country, but he needs to start playing regular football again.
His words, “There’s no reason not to take him if he’s doing well. The question is if he wants to come back,”
“We hope so because he’s an experienced player. He can be very useful to his partners. We’re waiting but firstly he has to play.”
