Nigerian football legend, Nwankwo Kanu has asked Super Eagles footballers to forget their loss to Madagascar and strive to win Afcon 2019.
Gernot Rohr’s boys were stunned 2-0 by the small soccer nation at Alexandria Stadium on Sunday, which made them finish as Group B runners-up.
However, Kanu will not dwell on that and has urged the players to see past the defeat and aim for the ultimate prize.
His words, “We win some we loose some but we know what we want so let’s be united and go for the cup. We look forward to next game and together you all we win it. Unlucky for this game but better one ahead. You all are champions so we go down and we bounce back Good luck next game.”
Nigeria will battle Group F’s runners-up in the Round of 16 as they proceed with their attempt to lift a fourth Afcon title.
