Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum has come out to blame the team’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations semi-final defeat vs Morocco on the two red cards the girls received in the game. He recently revealed this while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, he and his assistants cannot really comment on officiating because they will get in trouble, but it was clear that Nigeria was in control before the red cards.
Waldrum added that he is proud of his players for their spirited performance throughout the match because they kept having the zeal to win.
His words, “We [coaches] can’t comment on officiating, we will get into trouble,”
“We were in control of the game until after the first red card, then the second red card; I will put it this way.”
“I am proud of the girls tonight [Monday]. We wanted to win the game, not just the World Cup ticket,”
“Our substitutions were spot on and we can’t ask for more from the players, they gave their best.”
