La Liga CEO, Javier Tebas has come out to aim a cheeky dig at European Super League CEO, Bernd Reichart over plans to broadcast matches free of charge. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, promising to broadcast matches free of charge just to have the fans in your corner is not economically unsustainable, so Super League advocates should stop claiming they’ll perform miracles.

Tebas added that he’ll keep insisting that there will be no Super League in the short, medium or long term.
His words, “The miracle of the loaves and fishes was done by Jesus Christ, not by Bernd Reichart (CEO of A22). There will be no Super League in the short, medium or long term. Legally, it’s not going to be possible. It’s economically unsustainable. Free football is impossible, it would be an economic failure. You can’t fool people by saying that football is going to be free. I bet 100 dinners that we will not see it in the coming years. And a thousand dinners that it won’t be free.”
To be clear, there are no doubts and some mistakenly go to reopen the bar to drink cubas until 5 in the morning as Bern Reichart CEO seems to have been tonight.
The CJEU says that the rules for admission of FIFA and UEFA competitions are transparent, but not that they must admit the Super League. On the contrary, it points out that the criteria for admission to competitions must be transparent, objective and non-discriminatory. Principles are precisely incompatible with the Super League.”
