Supreme Court Upholds Governor Hyacinth Alia’s Election Victory in Benue State

The Supreme Court has affirmed the election victory of Governor Hyacinth Alia in Benue State, ruling in favor of his victory under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Alia secured the win against the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Titus Uba.

Prior to the Supreme Court’s decision, both the governorship election petition tribunal and the Court of Appeal in Abuja had upheld Alia’s election as the governor of Benue State.

Following the unfavorable judgments at the lower courts, Uba sought redress by approaching the Supreme Court in a bid to challenge the outcome of the election.
