Bayo Onanuga, who serves as a special adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on matters of information and strategy, has expressed the expectation that the Supreme Court will validate the President’s victory in the presidential election that took place on February 25.
Onanuga made the comment in response to the announcement made by the Supreme Court on the date on which it will hand down its decision regarding the appeals lodged by the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party, LP’s Peter Obi.
Atiku and Obi have both challenged Tinubu’s victory in the most recent presidential election by submitting challenges to the highest court in the land.

On the other hand, the Supreme Court announced that it would hand down its decision regarding the appeals on Thursday.
In response, Onanuga posted the following on X: “The Supreme Court will give its verdict tomorrow in the appeals filed by the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi; the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar.” The appeals were submitted by the PDP and Obi on behalf of the Labour Party.
They are contesting the win of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, President Bola Tinubu, in the election that took place on February 25.
“We in the APC are optimistic about our chances of winning. We have high hopes that Nigeria’s highest court would uphold the validity of the 8.9 million votes cast by Nigerians, which gave President Tinubu the victory in February of last year.
