‘Thank God Governor Rochas Okorocha lost the presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC)’. That was the expression of Imo State-born entrepreneur, Prince Alex Mbata, who noted that the governor’s loss is a blessing in disguise for the people of the state.
“It is better for us to have him as our governor after May 29 next year. If Owelle Okorocha had gone to Abuja there is no guarantee that the good work he has started in Imo will continue. So, for me, his not getting the presidential ticket of APC is good for Imo people,” said Mbata.
“Even Okorocha’s political opponents can attest to the fact that Imo is being renewed in the area of infrastructure and in all other sectors, especially education. So, why lose a man that is rescuing Imo to Abuja?” Mbata queried.
Mbata, who is the CEO of ABM Global group expressed happiness that Imo State will gain everything the country has lost in Okorocha being president, in the next four years. He noted that the Imo Rescue Mission which the governor embarked on has been effectively done in the last three years.
Mbata, who is the pro-chancellor and chairman governing council of Imo state university where tuition is free, lauded Okorocha’s special attention to education around in Imo state.
“I m happy the governor has paid special attention to education because the first thing a leader must do to emancipate his people is to educate them. Ignorance and poverty go together. The free education program of Owelle’s administration is one that will take Imo to the next level,” Mbata stated.
