Ivory Coast striker, Sebastien Haller has come out to say that he is happy to have helped the country achieve its AFCON dream. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, he and his teammates dreamt of winning the AFCON so many times, and after the big defeat against Equatorial Guinea, everyone had no choice but to regroup and right the wrongs.
Haller added that the joyous scenes after the final whistle will do a lot of good for the people of Ivory Coast.
His words, “We dreamed of this moment so many times, we hoped to get to this point.
The joyous scenes we see now, what’s happening in the country, they deserve it too. I hope it does a lot of good for people. Given what has happened over the last few months, it’s great to be here in front of you.
After the big defeat against Equatorial Guinea, we had no choice. We have come back from a long way. There were words, moments, which were not easy for the players, staff, and everybody [but] which were necessary.”
