President Bola Tinubu has been given a 14-day deadline to reverse his decision to end the country’s fuel subsidy by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP).
Within the next four weeks, SERAP recommended, Tinubu make public the expenditure details of the fuel subsidy.
The group threatened legal action against Tinubu if he did not release the information within four weeks.

SERAP tweeted on Sunday, “BREAKING: Subsidy removal: we’ve urged President Tinubu to widely publish spending details of the N400 billion saved in four weeks from the removal of subsidy on petrol, or face legal action.”
In his inaugural address on May 29th, Tinubu announced the end of the country’s gasoline subsidy programme.
He promised to reallocate funds from fuel subsidies to improve social services like healthcare and education.
