Toyin Aimakhu’s third movie in the Alakada series titled “Alakada Reloaded” will make its debut this May.
Speaking to Pulse Nigeria at the private screening of the movie on May 18, 2017, at Filmhouse Cinemas Surulere, the actress said she hopes to break office record.
“God help me, we are hitting 600 million naira – 1 billion,” the actress said about her box office expectations.
Speaking about the demise of her senior colleague Moji Olaiya, Aimakhu said, “I’m sorry I look like this. We just lost a senior colleague, that’s why most people are not here [at the private screening].”
She explained that she decided to hold the private screening because they had already sent out invites.
“I’m sad. I can’t even look up,” the actress added with her head down.
“Alakada Reloaded” follows Yetunde Animashaun, a young girl who is from a poor family background.
As a result of her inferiority complex, she engages in the act of making up stories and lying about her financial and social status in order to fit in with the crowd.
The star-studded series features Toyin Aimakhu alongside Kehinde Badmus, Nedu OAP, Helen Paul, Lilian Esoro, Annie Idibia, Bidemi Kosoko, Liz Da Silva and Gabriel Afolayan.
The private screening of “Alakada Reloaded” was attended by Lilian Esoro, Big Sam, Small Doctor, Joro Olumofin among others.
The movie will make its debut in cinemas on May 26, 2017.
