According to CNN’s reporting, Ukraine fired a barrage of missiles at Russia’s Black Sea Fleet headquarters in the Crimean city of Sevastopol on Friday, killing “senior leadership” and dozens of other sailors.
The Ukrainian SOF announced on social media that their “Crab Trap” operation was timed to occur during a meeting of senior Russian Navy officials. The attack, they said, killed and injured dozens of people, “including the senior leadership of the fleet.”
However, CNN reports that no names have been released as of yet.

The Air Force received the information and plans to launch a strike. Once it is safe to do so, we will share specifics of the assault. Dead and injured occupier numbers number in the dozens, and they include the fleet’s top brass, according to the statement.
The attack was the clearest demonstration yet of the boldness with which Ukraine is targeting Russian installations in seized Crimea, and it also highlighted the precarious state of some of the peninsula’s most essential infrastructure.
As the largest city in Crimea, Sevastopol was annexed unlawfully by Russia in 2014.
According to CNN, though, Ukraine has never stopped hoping for a return of the territory.
While the Russian Navy’s top brass was holding a meeting in the temporarily controlled city of Sevastopol, “the Special Operations Forces were able to hit the Black Sea Fleet headquarters ‘on time and with precision,'” the statement read.
According to reports, the headquarters of Russia’s Black Sea navy was hit by at least one Ukrainian missile on Friday, starting a fire in the Crimean port of Sevastopol.
On Friday (local time), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine must be stopped by a triumph by Ukraine.
Zelenskyy warned that Russia would never again attempt genocide in Ukraine if they were to lose, and he spoke before the Canadian Parliament to make his case. Moscow will eventually lose because it must.
“Moscow now, as always, is bent on controlling Ukraine and makes use of all available means to that end, including genocide,” the Ukrainian president warned. When we want to win, when we call on the world to assist us, this is not simply about a normal fight; what the Russian occupiers are doing to Ukraine is genocide. Millions of people’s lives depend on it.
