Usain Bolt has posted a scan of his injury following suggestions that he might be lying.
At the 4x100m finals at the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London, which was his last race as an athlete, Bolt pulled up during the anchor leg as Jamaica were going for gold.
Bolt went to the ground but rejected a stretcher, choosing to hobble his way to the finish line.
Doubters, however, questioned the extent of the injury pointing to Bolt’s partying in London after the Championship.
Bolt said on twitter “Sadly I have Tear of the proximal myotendineous junction of biceps femoris in my left hamstring with partial retraction. 3 months rehab,” Bolt wrote alongside an image of the scan that shows seriously torn hamstring.
“I don’t usually release my medical report to the public but sadly I have sat and listened to people questioning if I was really injured,” he added.
“I have never been one to cheat my fans in anyway & my entire desire at the championship was run one last time for my fans.
“Thanks for the continued support my fans and I rest, heal and move onto the next chapter of my life.”
