Veteran entertainer and activist Charly Boy has urged musicians and public figures to use their platforms to address societal issues. He recently had his say while speaking ahead of the July 2026 release of his memoir, “999”, and Nigerians have been reacting.
Revealing that entertainers have a responsibility to reflect the realities of the communities they serve, Charly Boy noted that several celebrities actually possess greater influence than politicians.

He concluded by urging entertainers to never shy away from speaking on issues affecting ordinary Nigerians.
His words, “They can do more. They have larger platforms than politicians. It won’t hurt them to speak up or make music that reflects reality.
It’s going to explode in our faces.”
WOW.
