Robin van Persie could dramatically boost Manchester United ahead of their upcoming crunch clash with Chelsea, by making his return from injury.
.
According to Goal, the Premier League champions’ top goalscorer from last season is set to return to active duty in ten days time having worked extensively in Holland in order to increase his recovery time.
.
Goal claims that Van Persie has been working one to one with PSV Eindhoven fitness coach Arno Philip in order to recover from the thigh strain he picked up in early December, and has now completed the final stage of his rehabilitation.
.
The 30-year-old former Arsenal striker, who played a key role in United’s charge to the English title last season, is not expected to be available to take part when his side take on Swansea this Saturday at Old Trafford, but could make his return in the all important showdown with Chelsea a week later.
.
His return will be a major boost with under-fire boss David Moyes, who has shouldered the bulk of criticism following a disastrous first-half of the season.
.
Van Persie’s injury woes haven’t helped matters and with the forward having already spent spells on the sideline due to a toe injury and groin complaint earlier this season, Moyes will no doubt be praying that his star man can remain fit for the remainder of the campaign.
