Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone has come out to suggest that VAR officials in Spain don’t treat managers and teams with respect. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, even if it is a relief that referees finally have technology to assist with decisions, it is clear that VAR improves and exposes them simultaneously.
Diego added that VAR officials should stop taking managers for fools because that will only make coaches angry.
His words, “The referees go through a moment of pressure, the VAR improves them, but exposes them too. Then we can discuss whether the audios are good: the issue is not whether they leak them, but what happens in them. They think we are all stupid, and that makes us angry.”
