Spain national team coach Vicente del Bosque believes that the presence of stars such as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo benefits La Liga.
.
The 63-year-old manager also added that he is indifferent about who wins the Ballon d’Or – as he does not care whether the Barcelona man, the Real Madrid star or Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery wins the 2013 award.
.
Messi, 26, has won the award since 2009, but he faces stiff competition from the Portugal international and the Bayern winger this time around.
.
And Del Bosque says he is indifferent about who picks up the award this time – since all players deserve it.
.
“I think it’s very good for Spanish football to have players like Messi and Ronaldo,” Del Bosque told Libertad FM in an interview that was quoted by Goal.com.
.
“They never go long without scoring a goal and it’s a privilege for La Liga to have players like them.
.
“I have no idea who will win the Ballon d’Or and I must admit that I do not really care. The three candidates are all very good and there’s no shame in losing to any one of them.”
.
Del Bosque also went on to discuss the position of Real Madrid shot-stopper Iker Casillas following the goalkeeper’s substitute role at Madrid.
.
Vincente, however, insisted that the experienced shot-stopper’s changed status does not affect his role for Spain.
.
He added: “Iker is active and training. He is playing in the Champions League and I don’t see any problems. Physically he’s fine.”
