Bernardo Silva has said Pep Guardiola’s drive to keep winning has helped Manchester City open up their huge lead at the top of the Premier League.
“What I think is the most impressive thing about [Guardiola] is the way he always wants to win more and more,” the 23-year-old said.
“When you win 10 times in a row, he wants to win the 11th and then the 12th. And when you win 20, he wants go for the 21st, so his ambition and his hunger to win things are something impressive.”
City set a new Premier League record for the most consecutive wins with 18 successive victories between August and December.
Silva believes the victory at Old Trafford was a crucial moment of the season, with City now seeming certain to clinch the title.
“I think the win against Manchester United [was the most important] obviously because we were a few points in front of them and after that game, we reached another level,” he added.
“It gave us the confidence to keep going, keep winning games.”
