Vice President Kashim Shettima paid a visit on Wednesday to displaced victims of the Christmas Eve attack in Bokkos Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.
His plane landed at the Yakubu Gowon Airport in Jos at 1:00 pm, marking the commencement of his on-the-spot assessment of communities affected by recent attacks in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi LGAs.
Upon arrival, Shettima was received at the airport by prominent figures including the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and former governors Simon Lalong and Joshua Dariye.

Meanwhile, displaced persons had gathered at the mini-stadium in Bokkos LGA, eagerly anticipating the Vice President’s visit.
Among them, some were seen holding placards with messages such as ‘Our Human Rights Must Be Protected’, highlighting their demands and concerns in the wake of the tragic events.
The visit follows the devastating attacks on Christmas Eve by gunmen in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi LGAs, resulting in the loss of over 110 lives.
