Eden Hazard felt Chelsea passed another test on their way to the Premier League title after seeing off Bournemouth 3-1.
The Blues arrived at Dean Court only four points clear at the top after Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Watford earlier on Saturday but they comfortably restored their seven-point advantage.
Chelsea opened the scoring through Adam Smith’s own goal before Hazard outfoxed Artur Boruc to double the visitors’ lead.
Joshua King’s deflected strike handed Bournemouth a lifeline but Marcos Alonso’s curling free-kick midway through the second half sealed Chelsea’s fifth win in six games.
“We passed a test,” said Hazard. “We knew the result of Tottenham before the game and today we deserved to win.
“It’s more easy to control the game when you score first but at the end of the first half we were a little bit down. But in the second half we did well to control the game.
“We have to believe in everything. Now is one step closer to the title and we have seven games left.”
