Arsenal has come out to confirm that club defender, Sokratis Papastathopoulos’ contract has been terminated. Sokratis’ deal was set to expire at the end of the season, but the 32-year-old has been freed up during the January transfer window to find a new club.
According to AFC technical director, Edu, the club really appreciates Sokratis for his contribution to Arsenal, and he has been a complete professional.
He added that the negotiations to end his contract have been collaborative, and the club wishes Papa and his family well for the future.
