Watford defender, William Troost-Ekong has come out to say that Super Eagles is not scared of playing in Lagos State. Ekong recently revealed that he has heard the fans in the state are very passionate, so he is looking forward to the support.
According to him, the players are fully focused on giving 100 per cent in every game for the fans, and good football will also be guaranteed.
He, however, added that with just 10,000 fans set to watch the Nigeria game against Lesotho, the presence of the fans might not be as overwhelming as they are used to.
His words, “I’ve heard that the fans are passionate, that’s nice because hopefully, we can feel their support,”
“Anywhere you play where the fans are passionate, you want to give your 100 per cent. We are not scared; we just want to play good football for them.”
“To be honest and I don’t mean it as a disrespect, I actually didn’t pay a lot of attention to the noise [about playing in Lagos] because I was preoccupied with Rangers,”
“We won’t have a lot of the fans amongst us, but maybe in the future, we will have a proper feel of Lagos.”
