The candidate of the Labour Party in Delta State during the last governorship election, Chief Great Ogboru, has said though he is still a member of the LP, he is having discussions on the possibility of his defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The LP chieftain, who made the disclosure at Ughelli yesterday during the commissioning of a fuel station belonging to the Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency House of Representative candidate of the Labour Party, Julius Akpovoka, said: “I am still in the Labour Party but we are discussing with the APC”.
Applauding the people of the area for their support to him over the years, the governorship candidate urged them to be resolute noting that the change that has started in the country would soon land in Delta State.
“I am believing God for victory at the state election tribunal because we have confidence in the word of God that when he says something, it would come to pass. We know what the people of Delta did with their votes during the last election and we would reclaim at the appropriate time”, he said.
On his part, Akpovoka while appealing to the people to remain calm, said: “A lot of irregularities trailed the election, but we have taken our cases to the court and the court would decide on the true position of things”.
