Benfica football club has come out to say that claims they have entered into talks with Manchester United over the sale of Joao Neves are blatantly false. The club recently had its say via a press statement, and fans have been reacting.
According to Benfica, the club denies the existence of any right of preference over João Neves, and under no circumstance have they entered into talks with any club.

The club added that any information saying otherwise by the press should be ignored completely.
It read, “Benfica denies the existence of any right of preference over its player João Neves. Under no circumstances did Benfica enter into talks with Manchester United or any other club about this player from their formation – nor does it intend to do so – so any information that points in another direction is false.”
WOW.
